The 2021 Chevy Colorado’s Diverse Customization Options

The Chevy Colorado has always been a hit among truck fans since its debut in 2004. This visually appealing pickup was designed to replace the sporty S-10 and give drivers a top-of-the-line truck experience. The first-generation of the Colorado favored the S-10 in terms of its low-profile look, but the second-generation is where this truck really gains some visual class, with a tougher look to match its upgraded capabilities. If you are looking for class and power, then you should stop by your local Atlanta Chevy dealer and see the new 2021 Chevy Colorado for yourself.
Additionally, Colorado’s tech specs have come a long way since it first hit the market. The 2021 Colorado has several available driver’s assist features and entertainment assets that make it even safer and a lot more fun to drive. To top it all off, this sporty truck is now muscular to boot, creating the perfect balance between fun and rugged. Let’s take a look at each trim and the available customization features on each one to see how perfect this truck will be for you.
The WT Trim
The base 2021 Chevy Colorado trim is the WT. This one comes with six exterior colors, which include Satin Steel Metallic, Summit White, and Black, with premium Crush orange, Bright Blue Metallic, and Cherry Red Tintcoat options for an additional price. You’ll get standard 17-inch Ultra Silver painted steel wheels with this one, with three additional wheel options available. These include either 18-inch Dark Argent metallic cast aluminum wheels, 18-inch by 8.5-inch aluminum transit wheels, and 18-inch 5-spoke gloss black aluminum wheels. You can choose from several add-on exterior options, including black rocker guards, chrome rectangular assist steps, black rectangular assist steps, tonneau covers, body-colored power outside mirrors, a door decal package, tailgate liner, and much more.
As far as the interior goes, you can choose from either a Jet Black/Dark Ash cloth seat trim or a Jet Black/Dark Ash vinyl interior. It has standard front bucket seats, and there are several add-on options as well. These include the Chevrolet performance interior badge, footwell and cup holder lighting in blue, all-weather floor mats and floor liners, and rubberized vinyl floor covering.
The only driver-assist feature on the WT trim is the Rear Park Assist, which helps drivers back up without colliding with objects or pedestrians. This trim also includes an optional OnStar add-on, though, which is well worth the extra $175. That said, it does come with standard teen driver mode and a tire pressure monitoring system. Overall, this trim is clearly just the basics of this truck line, so it’s perfect if you don’t need much out of your pickup.

The LT Trim
The LT trim comes with the same colors as the WT trim, but with the Redline Special Edition package option. This black and red-themed package includes a spray-on bedliner, 18-inch high gloss black painted aluminum wheels with 18-inch blackwall tires, alongside black off-road assist steps. The Redline package also includes a black grille with a bowtie emblem, red recovery hooks, and red stripes on exterior mirrors.
The Chrome Appearance package is also available on this model. It includes chrome beltline moldings, chrome heated power outside mirrors, chrome door handles, and a chrome rear bumper for an incredibly shiny look. You can also add a cheaper Sport’s Package, which includes door decals and a Chevrolet performance interior badge.
In addition to these features, you can choose from up to 6 different wheels, including the Redline’s high gloss black wheels. These include 17-inch Blade Silver Metallic wheels, 18-inch Dark Argent Metallic cast wheels, 18-inch aluminum transit wheels, or 18-inch 5-spoke gloss black or aluminum wheel options. These wheels come paired with either 17-inch or 18-inch all-season blackwall tires.
Regarding the interior, buyers get standard Jet Black cloth seat trim with this model. The LT’s interior is arguably better than the WT’s, with heated driver and passenger seat options, a heated steering wheel, and a rear window defogger. A Bose premium sound system, optional Navigation with the Infotainment system, and remote start are also included, on top of everything else that the lowest trim offers.
The LT trim steps up the game by adding an HD rear vision camera, rear park assist, lane departure warning, and forward collision alert. The HD rear vision camera works well with rear park assist to give drivers a safer back-up experience. Lane departure and forward collision alert work to prevent collisions and keep drivers alert at all times. Overall, these features, combined with the LT’s customization options, make it a top competing 2021 Colorado trim.
The Z71 Trim
Once again, the Z71 trim comes with the same colors as its aforementioned trims, but it does include its own unique customization package, called the Z71 Midnight Edition package. You can opt for this Z71 Midnight Edition package to get spray-on bedliner, 17-inch black painted wheels, 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires, the Black Bowtie emblem package, and all-weather floor liners. This is essentially a blacked-out package option. Otherwise, it includes the same add-ons as the other trims do. Lastly, the Z71’s interior is pretty much left unchanged. Most of its differences lie within its exterior package options. It does include standard Jet Black cloth/leatherette seat trim, but that’s its only significant difference.
The Z71 comes with standard rear park assist, teen driver mode, a tire pressure monitoring system, and an HD rear vision camera like its predecessors. You can still add lane departure warning and forward collision alert as well. OnStar is standard in this trim as well. In short, many features that were optional before are now standard on the Z71.

The ZR2 Trim
The highest available trim is the ZR2 trim, which includes an additional color option: Sand Dune Metallic. This option is only available in four-wheel drive, while the previous trims come standard with two-wheel drive, with optional four-wheel drive. Aside from that, the ZR2 is loaded with exterior package options.
Buyers can add the Sport Appearance package, and the Midnight Special Edition package comes with additional off-road lights and a sports bar with the ZR2 logo on it. In addition to this, the Dusk Special Edition package comes with these same two features, alongside 17-inch gloss black wheels. Aside from these package options, you can add 17-inch graphite and oxide gold aluminum wheels, which pair nicely with the Sand Dune Metallic exterior coat. The ZR2 comes with the aforementioned interior add-ons, with additional contoured front and rear floor liner options. It has standard Jet Black leather seat trim with no additional seating options.
As far as tech is concerned, the ZR2 comes with OnStar, teen driver mode, a tire pressure monitoring system, and an HD rear vision camera. However, rear park assist, forward collision alert, and lane departure warning are not available on this trim. If you’re looking for safety tech, the two middle trims will provide you with the most options.
Fun Electronic Features
Even though the Colorado is a work truck, it still has some fun electronic features. 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspots come standard on every trim except for the WT, but you can get it for an extra cost. Every trim comes with front USB ports, and the three highest trims come with auxiliary jack inputs with an SD card reader. All trims, besides the WT trim, come with driver and passenger side microphones and remote keyless entry. Remote start is standard on the highest two trims, and it’s available on the LT. Overall, the Colorado has many fun and convenient available and standard electronic tech features.
