The Chevy Silverado is at the Top of its Segment

November 29th, 2017 by

Since its unveiling in 1998, the Chevy Silverado has undergone vey little altercations. Every so often this American-made pick up truck would receive a face-lift, but other than that the Chevy Silverado hasn’t changed much. For those of you in the market for a pick-up truck, this is great news because it means that the Chevy Silverado is dependable. In fact, the Silverado has been named Truck of the Year/Best Pick Up Truck by various organizations, so it’s not just us that think the Chevy Silverado is one of the best pick-up trucks available on the market. The 2017 Silverado is just as impressive as the previous models, and it’s got the accolades to back it up.

Awards and Accolades
Two of the awards given to the 2017 Chevy Silverado were from Kelley Blue Book, which is an incredibly credible source when it comes to vehicle quality. One of the awards that the Silverado won was the 2017 KBB 5-Year Cost To Own (Full-Size Pickup) Regular Cab. Now what exactly does that mean? Other trucks that are similar to the Chevy Silverado might also have similar sticker prices, however, they may actually cost you more when you consider the long-term cost of fuel, financing, insurance, state fees, and depreciation. That is why Kelley Blue Book created the annual 5-Year Cost to Own Awards, which help you, the buyer; more easily identify the vehicles that would be the least expensive to own. In other words, your initial investment in the 2017 Chevy Silverado will without out a doubt pay off.

The other award that the Chevy Silverado received from Kelley Blue Book was the 2017 KBB Best Resale Value: Full Size Pick Up. This award is meant to help truck buyers pick a vehicle that will help them retain most of their investment. It’s no secret that new trucks depreciate quite a bit within the first five years of ownership, and there really isn’t anything you can do to change that. However, if you purchase a car with a strong resale value, you can guarantee that you will minimize your loses when you do decide to sell your truck. Not only does the 2017 Chevy Silverado have a great resale value, it is also the second-best selling vehicle in the country.

Kelley Blue Book wasn’t the only one to recognize the 2017 Chevy Silverado. It also won, “Most Dependable Large Heavy Duty Pickup, Three Years In A Row.” Along with their Initial Quality Study, J.D. Power also conducts an annual U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS). This study is meant to narrow down what has gone right and wrong within the first 3 years of ownership. The original owners are asked to report all problems they have regarding the design or any defects they may have noticed during the previous year, and when you’re in the market for a truck that is as dependable as you are, it’s nice to know what other people think.
