  You have two remarkable engines to choose from with the Silverado 3500 HD, starting with a 6.6L V8 gas engine that delivers 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. If you are looking to really take the capability of your truck to the next level, then there is a 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 engine available that boosts torque to 910 lb-ft, and it can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. You can even choose a version of the diesel engine with integrated Power Take-Off (PTO) functionality that lets you transfer engine power to auxiliary components when needed. This is functionality that you will not find on many other trucks and it demonstrates what an absolute workhorse this model is.

  Numerous configuration options are available to let you get exactly what you need in your pickup, including three different cab sizes and two bed lengths. It might not have as many customization options as the Silverado 1500, but since this is more of a niche pickup, that is to be expected. Still, you can get exactly the right configuration for what you need and deliver the kind of capability and muscle you require from your truck. You can choose either two-wheel drive (2WD) or four-wheel drive (4WD) for the Silverado 3500 HD without limiting your other options.

  A Variety of Cab and Bed Configurations

  For starters, there are three different cab sizes for you to choose from: a two-door regular cab, a larger double cab, and a spacious crew cab that gives you plenty of front and rear-passenger seating. You also have your choice of different bed lengths, depending on the types of items you tend to load into your truck’s bed.
