Zipline Tours

Lake Lanier Canopy Tours, located on Lanier Islands Parkway, offers a unique way to explore the area and encounter its wildlife. Tours range from the one-hour Express Canopy Tour for $30 per person to the three-hour Lakeside Tour or Full Moon Zip Line Tour for $100 per person. Most tours include seven zip lines (two of which go right over Lake Lanier), as well as two sky bridges, but others include as many as fourteen. LanierWorld

For more fun on the Lanier Islands, head to LanierWorld. You will find a half-mile of white beaches and over a dozen wet rides along with other amusement park rides, live entertainment, and much more. Where else will you find dive-in family movies? Regular admission prices are $41.99 for a full day pass (10 a.m. to close) or $30.99 for a lazy day pass (4 p.m. to close). Discounts are available for children under 42 inches and seniors. You can also buy a pass for the beach or dining options only or a season pass that’s good for the entire summer.

Treetop Quest

You can find this eco-adventure course at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center on Clean Water Drive. The course features zip lines, monkey bridges, Tarzan swings, and flying foxes, with some levels being 55 feet above the ground. There is also a ground course for young children. Ticket prices range from $22 for the youngest age bracket to $49 for adults and include 30 minutes of equipment fitting, training, and briefing plus two hours of self-guided access to the course. Hours of operation vary by month.

Buford Dam Park

The highlight of Buford Dam Park is the 3.8-mile Laurel Ridge Trail, which links it with Powerhouse Park and Lower Overlook. During your walk, you will enjoy gorgeous views of both the lake and the Chattahoochee River, as well as woodland scenery and wildlife. The park also offers areas for basketball, volleyball, swimming, and picnicking. The fee to enter the park is $4 for vehicles and $1 for pedestrians.

Tannery Row Artist Colony

Art lovers should check out the Tannery Row Artist Colony on West Main Street, where you can watch artists during their creative process. Each artist in the community has his or her own studio, and some even offer classes. You will find painting, pottery, printmaking, and more. The public is welcome to visit from 12 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday.
