Celebrate the End of Summer at Buford Corn Maze

At the start of every September, this family spot opens up. In addition to a complex and tall maze, there are carnival type games, a hayride called “The Beast,” farm animals, and more. Consider visiting during October as well for a haunted forest. Prices vary depending on the event and year.

Cuisine Training at Buford Highway Farmers Market

The market also has occasional events, like cooking classes taught by professional chefs throughout the year, but it’s a great place to visit on a whim as well. Browse authentic produce, fruits, vegetables, meat, and seafood from many corners of the world. Moreover, take tours to see what ingredients come from which places. Badminton Fridays at Best Friend Park

This fun, sunny park has plenty of tennis courts, as well as a water park and a twisty water slide, but Friday’s where it’s at because you can play badminton to your heart’s content for just $2 a person. Forrest Wood Cup Fishing Weigh-Ins

Every year in August, the Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) tours the country, and 46 of the nation’s top anglers compete. The weigh-ins at the Gwinnett Center also include an outdoor show with other events and activities, and both are free to attend. Anyone with an interest in fishing, watercraft, or sportsmanship should check the FLW site and mark his or her calendars.

This is an annual event held in the Infinite Energy Center (aka Gwinnett Center). There are exhibits with fascinating artifacts, great food to sample, music and dance performances, and beautiful fashion from many parts of the world’s largest continent. Admission is $6-10 a person, but children under five get in free.

Friday and Saturday Madness at Lazer City

Lazer City, previously known as Laser Tag of Buford, is the biggest laser tag arena in the southeast. On top of other fun arcade-type games, the laser tag arena has top-tier equipment that tells players the scores, who shot whom, and more to keep the game intense. The arena is designed with a dark metropolis theme, with sweet lighting, fog, and sound effects. Friday and Saturday Madness lets you play unlimited laser tag games from 7 to 11 p.m. for only $20 a person.
