Halloween 2016 in Buford, GA
Buford’s location makes it a fun place to visit or live in around autumn, partly for the many nearby towns and their annual events. If you’re seeking some fun parties, pumpkin-flavored treats, and fiery foliage colors, mark some of these events on your calendar for this fall.
Nightmare of Peachtree Street
This Halloween bash in Atlanta takes place on Saturday, October 9 at 9 p.m. and features live music from five different DJ performances. There will also be a costume contest and cool party favors. Nightmare of Peachtree Street is for visitors ages 21 and up. Consider marking this on your calendar to get you into the Halloween spirit early.
Atlanta Pub Crawl Halloween
Adults looking for a night of drinks and changing scenery should check out this pub crawl from Friday, October 29 through Sunday, October 31. Drink, dance, and have fun, if you can get a ticket. Unfortunately this event is high demand and selling out quickly. If it does happen to be too late, just keep a watch on the event to see if tickets become available again. The pub crawl is specifically made up of bars that have the best Halloween decor and specials.
Stone Mountain Park Annual Pumpkin Festival
From Friday, September 30 to Sunday, October 30, the lovely Stone Mountain Park becomes even more fun with this autumn themed festival. Pumpkin fans will enjoy the pie eating contest, games, shows, a maze, a scavenger hunt, and much more. Best of all, the event is set in a mountain park, and guests can get exciting views from the Summit Skyride over 800 feet above ground.
Boo at the Zoo
This event includes five fun days spread throughout the Saturdays and Sundays of the latter half of October. The Atlanta Zoo becomes even more awesome with candy, new spooky pathways, and costumed characters. There’s a full day’s worth of activities starting at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m., so Boo at the Zoo can be paired with an evening event later in the day. This year, the days for the events are October 17-18, 24-25, and Halloween.
Trick or Treat Atlantic Station
Parents can be heroes by taking kids to this early candy-grabbing spot in Atlantic Station, a great place to get a good meal or go shopping. Many participating stores and restaurants in the area will be handing out Halloween treats, and kids can load up while parents find the right gift for a Halloween party. Watch the Atlantic Station site to see when the information comes in on the 2016 Trick or Treat event.
Netherworld
Opening September 23 and an awesome place to visit for Halloween, Netherworld is a thrilling haunted house with superb effects and a lot of creativity. The experience is classically scary and great fun for fans of older horror movies. If you’ve been to haunted houses and weren’t impressed, give Netherworld a shot, because it has skilled stunt actors and a startling amount of atmosphere and effort.
Between these six October events in and around Buford, the fall should be very interesting. Find a free day or night on one of the pre-Halloween events or choose to do something fun on Halloween itself. Either way, have fun and bring friends or family!
