Four Concert Events You Shouldn’t Miss in Atlanta

Atlanta has always been the place to see amazing shows and concerts, and the 2017 festival season is no exception. Here are a few upcoming shows you don’t want to miss.

Music Midtown

One of Georgia’s largest music fests, Music Midtown is a must-see experience. The event takes place Sept. 16 and 17 in Piedmont Park and features a diverse lineup of more than 30 artists across four stages. Whether you prefer hip-hop, rock, electronica, pop, or any genre in between, Music Midtown is the place to discover new artists and see your favorites in person.

Previous artists have included The Killers, Ke$ha, Beck, Corinne Bailey Rae, deadmau5, TWENTY ØNE PILØTS, and CHVRCHΞS. Music Midtown is also the perfect place to sample local Atlanta eats, ride the Ferris wheel, and take in the exceptional views of Midtown.

Imagine Music Festival

A three-day camping electronic dance music festival, IMF is like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. The Imagine Music Festival takes place Sept. 22, 23, and 24 and features cirque-style acts, DJs, bands, and electrifying performances. The event has been voted one of the Top 30 festivals in the world by Fest300, as well as one of the Top Ten Emerging Music Festivals by USA Today.

Visitors are encouraged to camp at the Imagine campgrounds outside the Speedway. RVs are also welcome. Those who plan to camp will need to purchase both a festival ticket and a camping pass. Best of all, you can purchase a stay in one of the pre-setup souvenir tents that you can take home after the event.

Wire & Wood Songwriters Festival

For a more laid-back experience, stop by the Wire & Wood Songwriters Festival in downtown Alpharetta. The festival takes place every October and features nationally recognized singer-songwriters. Past artists have included John Oates, Emily Saliers of Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins, and members of Sister Hazel.

You’ll also discover up-and-coming local talent in the genres of Americana, bluegrass, blues, rock, and country. All ages are welcome, and kids 12 and under get in free. Although the schedule for 2017 hasn’t yet been released, we expect admission to cost $35 in advance and $40 at the gate like last year.

A3C Music Festival & Conference

Another great festival in October is the A3C (All 3 Coasts) Music Festival & Conference at the Georgia Freight Depot. Touted as hip-hop’s biggest stage, A3C is a two-day outdoor festival in downtown Atlanta with some of the world’s most renowned hip-hop artists. A3C alumni include the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Alchemist, 2 Chainz, Dungeon Family, and Big Daddy Kane, so you never know who you’ll discover!

Both the conference and music festival last from Oct. 4 through 8. Admission options include passes to the festival only ($70) or conference only ($195), or a combined ticket with full access. The five-day A3C pass starts at $237, but if you splurge on the Executive Pass with exclusive networking opportunities, it’ll cost $485.
